hi. can anyone add a code to my ip35 pro xe bios? it's an isa option rom. im not sure really how to do it. i read about this, and already done all the other part, of assembling the code to their instructions, that are listed on http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/show...ets/page34 here. this is pretty much what i want to do. i used the program they said and assembled the isa option rom. ill put it down there as a link.
i done it right by their directions and put all the code in it was all selected and all added, with no extra spaces on the top or
bottom. . and made the isa option rom file using the
ill also put the bios file i would like to get it put in. since this bios i think already has an isa option rom, im not really for sure how to inject it, i think it does, anyhow though. they are talking about it on that link. if anyone knows what their talking about and could update this bios, please help me. this motherboard might be good to update, as its one of the few p35 boards that are pretty good, that you can still buy socket 775, brand new for. so id think people might be looking for this or want this.
information: this option rom unlcoks teh mchbar, at least theoretically according to the link that is locked in the abit ip35 pro xe bios. nobody ever done it and linked it anywhere, and im unsure of how it really works for updating any of this stuff. i also never knew xeons had sse4.1 but i thought they did, so when i changed my e6600 to a x3360 and it didnt have the extra stuff, i just thought xeons didnt have it, and didnt think really it was a big deal. but here recently ive been trying to get some more performance out of my abit board, and its just stuck, at my decent without much work overclock on this 2.8 ghz quad core at 3.65 ghz. one of the problems trying to overclock it is there is no ddr ram settings, the whole mchbar is locked. its not in bios, and that mchbar program which is what that links from, doesnt work on it, as its locked before the computer boots up into windows, and where its locked, cant be unlocked from windows. thats what the program writer said.
anyway that link has some info on what this isa option rom is, and id like to get if someone could help me, this bios updated, with this isa option rom. also this bios i found on here, and it has the intel option rom already updated. i tested it and got no real much of an improvement in any test scores. but i also found while doing this, that my whole driver was old too. and that gave me more improvement than anthing. i posted some screenshots under this same board topic in the raid section from the different tests i done.
if anyone could do this bios hack for me, and also just, advice on how much your sure about knowing what this does, that this was the right way, to put this isa option rom in, in your skill level. itd help.
it sure would help. thanks in advnace to anyone. and also, it could help a bunch of other people too, as this is one of the few boards still being sold i believe new out of china where it was made at, almost 100% sure, 99.9%. by an out of business company that was a high end board. its decent anyway. it supports 1066 ram stock and 1600fsb, stated. and their new and socket 775. i get decent scores with it. just never figured out how to overclock, and when i figured out some better settings, never got any better overclocks, but it was decent to begin with, but i did get to lower my voltages. itd be a good upgrade for some 775 board people. and if anyone was interested in it. thanks.
heres the bios file, https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/attachment.php?aid=9625
and use the IR10slic bios, in that zip. this bios is said to be a beta bios, i dont know if before or after the latest 11 bios for this motherboard, and ive used it, its a slic bios acer i think and it works. its got updated intel option rom and im pretty sure it is updated as it flashes it on the screen as the computer starts. it updates the intel option rom from version 8 to 10. i think this zip, might have a readme in it.. and the 11 bios also from abit the last one, didnt show the sse4.1onn my xeon 775 x3360 processor, but this beta bios, did have it after i installed it and gave me the sse4.1 and the other features. so it might of been after or i dont know the person who done this bios might of updated it. so its a little bit updated too for the processor. nothing seems unstable about it or anything. It was supposed to be a SLIC bios with updated intel option rom put in it. Also I couldnt use dos to flash the bios with it, I had to use windows, winflash, and the bios says not for retail reuse or something like that when it boots up too instead of the bios 11 version on the first screen. so maybe because its not for retail or whatever it is it says, it might not pass a checksum or something or some test when the dos tries to flash it. it just stops working when you go to flash. winflash does work though. awardwinflash1.94 is what i used.
anybody, help?
