Difference between Flash-NOR and DataFLASH

Hi all,

Can someone please tell me the difference between Flash-NOR and DataFLASH?

Specifically, can a DataFLASH chip be used as the main BIOS chip or is the DataFLASH "gone" when the power is cut completely (i.e. removal of CMOS battery)?
