Don't flash version 6.09!
hi, thanks I tried but I get - Error: File ROM ID incorrect . I think that one is for board rev 1.3, I have 1.2 , I'm on the latest BIOS for that. The only thing I can think of is perhaps the memory? it is 1600 mhz, the E5400 is 800 FSB, the Q6600 1066. Perhaps something with timings? read it should be compatible, but with these boards...

and I actually think I tried 6.09 before, because I read it shold just work, but it didn't flash either.

Try to edit Flash.bat:
AFUWIN EU36.07 /p /b /c /x

Thanks,that worked to flash.
Cpu still does not work unfortuntely, same behavior, a short and a long beep.
I read 6.09 might work but a bit weary with /x .
Does 6.07 need microcode updates to work?
My CPU is a Q6600 SLACR.
Why not flash 6.09, will it brick?

Thank you for the help!

BIOS version 6.07 already has suitable microcode for Q6600 (SLACR, CPUID=0x6FB).
Did you tested your Q6600 with other system?
BIOS version 6.09 can't be downgraded to other version without a hardware programmer or special version of safuwin.exe (safuwinp).

Hi, thanks for the explanation. Yes I tried it on some packard bell board, it works there.
