Possibly yes, only way to know is to enable and try. Sometimes (often) manufacturer hide stuff that works fine, you never know.
And yes, it's safe to enable, and try enable the option even if no hardware support, if that's the case nothing will happen will be the outcome.
Just don't disable other graphics leaving only that one!
