ACER TMB118-R BIOS unlock
#1
I'm trying to flash my TMB118-R netbook.  Currently it has a BIOS password set (from previous owner who cannot remember it), which is preventing me from re-imaging.  Not a big deal at this stage, because the current O/S is running fine.
I have extracted the files in the EXE using 7-ZIP and have tried to modify the [forceflash] section under Passwords and set it to 1, but that didn't work.
I have used extractor to extract the file inside the flashfile and used UEFITool to view it, but not sure what to do next to modify it and then put it all back together.
Out of desperation, I tried to use a hex editor to modify the flashfile, which contained the details from the platform.ini file, but although the flash utility was happy with it, upon reboot it errors out trying to install, due to the file size/hash change.

Anyone out there able to either give me some pointers or modify the attached flash file so it forces the password to reset?

Attached Files
.zip   BIOS_Acer_1.26_A_A.zip (Size: 5.05 MB / Downloads: 2)
