Dell Vostro 1000 Bios Help!!
#1
Rainbow
OK! So, something has been pissing me off, quite a bit (Sorry for the language) But short story is.. bought a new laptop, works great, it boots and everything like that.. But theres a BIOS password on it.. So when you turn it on, and it goes to the bios screen you cant do ANYTHING aside from starting windows.. Pressing F2 to go into setup, brings you to a password screen.. And i've tried everything and it's mom to get past it.. iBios.. cmos wipe.. pretty much every utility on Hirens boot CD and Ultimate Boot CD.. Nothing has worked.. i've taken the Cmos battery out.. I've cut all power to the laptop.. i've even taken the ENTIRE thing apart and nothing..

I was wondering if there was a way to clear the password.. or perhaps just install a fresh bios.. I'll do just about anything right now..

OH!! i also dont know if this is the right thread to post this on.. so please dont get mad at me, i'm new to this site..

Yes, this thread should have been in the general section but we can always move it Smile

Anyways, it shouldn't be a problem getting the bios password removed, although I am surprised that it didn't clear when you removed the battery. In any event I would start with the default passwords list in the general forum and see if any of them let you in. Once you report back we can work from there.

Welcome to bios-mods,

I've done the general passwords as well.. I've literally done everything..
I about threw my laptop out the window when the password didnt clear after taking the battery out..

And i did post the same thread in "general Discusion"

I know this is an old post but If it is still locked and If your service tag number ends with -595b or -2a7b then I can send you the password for it. Let me know.
