Well, I fixed the laptop by dismantling and heating the Nvidia chipset to above solder melting temp.
Put it back together and all works well, except for the Intel wireless adapter. The original Broadcom adapter now works as it should, but the Intel adapter is still not showing up at all. Not sure if this is a Whitelist issue.
I "hot swapped" the Broadcom out and the Intel in, while the laptop was in sleep mode, but on awakening, there was no adapter showing in "Devices" and no error messages either. The Intel just doesn't show up at all. I "hot swapped" the Broadcom back in and it begins running normally.
So, I can't get the Intel's "Device ID" that way, but this is the info on the card itself:
Intel model WM3945ABG MOW1
FCC ID: B94WM3945ABG
IC:466Q-WM3945AG
CT: GB8690AB6TZ89X
Intel SN: 277FA1496CXD26436008
N232
Rev: 0A
Do you think the Intel adapter can be recognized by this machine, with bios mods?
