I'm a newbie trying to learn how to do this myself, and I'd appreciate any advice and/or help in creating the modded bios I need with SLIC 2.1
I have a Gateway 255-E laptop with Phoenix Bios version 75.10 installed.
Gateway currently has only versions 75.09 and 75.07 downloadable, so I made a backup of my 75.10 bios using Winphlash which is available here:

I saved a copy of my AcpiTbls.rw here:

I flashed an untested bios labelled "Gateway Mega Bios v75.09 Acer 2.1 SLIC By 1234s282" on another thread, but did not see an SLIC table using RW-Everything after having flashed my machine, so I flashed back to my backup of 75.10 thinking that no SLIC table = will not work for Win 7, so I didn't bother attempting an install. (laptop came with Vista, I "downgraded" to XP and would like to move to 7 eventually)
I tried modding the bios myself using PhoenixTool 1.93 and the backup of my 75.10 bios. I used ACER info since Gateway is now owned by Acer. The utility warned me that MOC_4A00.ROM didn't match my certificate (x1), but that the BIN did match the cert. I don't know what to make of that issue.
I got some errors using ACER as the BIN and Key -- something about the size, so I used Toshiba instead (on a tip that it compresses better) and it created a new bios successfully (so it claims)... I'm not entirely certain I should try flashing my machine with that modded bios b/c I'm not really sure what I'm doing.
Copies of Gateway official release bios versions 75.09 and 75.07 are available here:

Should I try re-flashing the untested bios from another thread even though it has no SLIC table in RE-Everything, try flashing my modded bios I just made with the Toshiba BIN, or can someone link me a modded bios or direct me how to properly create my own?
Thanks in advance!
