Thanks you two. Rather than going through this process I was thinking of just exchanging / repairing this with Lenovo. Seems too much of a trouble to go through

yes I know, this is a very old topic

But I have the almost the same problem. I want to clear the password of my bios which I forgot btw. I tried to change the platform.ini file with password=1 clearcmos=1 but the password still remains. Any help?
