HP dv7-6xxx 2011 bios unlock request
#1
Hi every1,
I know that this may cause semi-brick(which can be fixed), anyway i'm requesting hp dv7 6xxx(particulary mine: 6053er) bios unlock. I need only 1 feature to be 100% unlocked - intel hd3000 should be disabled. I want to manage to run my ati video card on mac os, anyway since switchable graphics is not supported - only intel hd 3000 is recognized. If i'll disable intel hd 3000 - ati will work, so that's why i'm requesting this bios unlock.
Here's the bios: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55068.exe

p.s. would be very nice if you'll provide me with any info regarind possible bios rewting damage(particulary the mods u'll provide) - excluding semi-brick which can be fixed by battery take off(cmos reset), thank you Smile
if you'll have any problems with this particular bios - feel free to ask for older1, since my laptop has ~4 different versions of same bios.

Hello, I also have OSX in a DV7 6190sl (tonymacx86), and I just opened a new topic here:

http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Cu...ng-in-bios

I have installed several modded bios on this site, and the impressive thing was the bios sp54024 unloked (with this I was able to disable the discrete video card, but with HD3000 bios brick): I could see so many viable options for us as Local APIC (to use the original kernel), Legacy USB (USB 3.0 I think useful for work), and especially the video features, where you can disable both video cards, or decide how it should be the swich (Mux Muxeles, Fixed Mux, Mux Dynamic etc. (a configuration used on the real Mac)) or disable it. With the video features are totally sure 100% the discrete video card can work

These are the priorities for us!Smile

Since i don't have os x atm - i haven't tried this bioses, anyway i've sent the link to users - and they've reported semi-brick after saving settings, basically same as "Micky1979" did. Could it be possible to have a bios with intel hd 3000 disabled by default? This way we wouldn't need to re-save that option, mb we'll by-pass semi-brick then.

Offtop: Besides, any possible options in unlocked bios could speed up ssd? As far as i know, ahci is enabled by default, not sure if there's something else - what can possibly be changed for ssd.

I want the options working, at least those to disable / enable integrated video card.

For ssd no bios setting problem already, you can make, even with modified Camiloml'bios I already have one installed (OSX boot in 15 seconds), do not worry about that!Wink
