Hello everybody,
I hope not to post in the wrong section.
I am going to proceed with the purchase of my first ThinkPad and I would like to change it a bit but as you all know I need to flash the BIOS to replace the WWAN card with a newer one.
Well, I don't know at all how to do it. I have read some guides (including
this one), but some users on the web have told me that they are obsolete and that the procedure to date is different. I also tried looking at your Wiki, but I admit as ignorant that I didn't understand anything. So I try to ask here if any good soul can eliminate my doubts.
- What tools (hardware and software) should I get BEFORE sending my request here on the forum to get the personalized BIOS image for my T430?
- What procedures should I carry out BEFORE making the above request?
- What procedures should I carry out (physically and software) AFTER having received my custom BIOS image?
- The flashing BIOS procedure (not the creation of its image, for that I would like to entrust to user @Dudu2002), is it feasible even by an inexperienced person like me? I personally assembled a couple of PCs, but never got my hands on the BIOS.
BONUS: is it possible to switch from BIOS to UEFI also on the
T430? If so, is it recommended?
Thanks in advance!
