I have the same problem but my bios version is: 9ECN33WW(v1.16). I'd think whatever this solution is it would work for mine as well. So exactly how or what was done to get past this whitelist issue. I have already changed my original adapter intel 3160 to intel 7260 because the 7260 is on the whitelist. Changing it did not improve my wireless performance. The most i can get is 5.6 and should be getting at least 15 with my connection. I have an older laptop that is getting 16. Like to change the adapter but the whitelist will stop me. Please help!!!!

.... So I did something quite stupid, meddling with the video settings I think I changed something regarding PCIE video output and now my Y50 won't show video output from either the display or HDMI port. I've tried using two methods previously mentioned in this thread to no avail. I'm using a modified BIOS from this thread. (whitelist removal)
Basically soft-bricked the laptop and can't restore the BIOS.
I beckon for help please... I've got quite an expensive paperweight due to my folly.
