Hi,
I just found your website and hope you guys are able to help. I got this compaq presario CQ56 and I have been trying to install windows 7 on it but I am not able to change the sata mode in the BIOS from AHCI to SATA so that windows set up loads. Right now I am getting blue screens and searching for a solution led me to this site. The BIOS is very minimal, so I am hoping that if it's unlocked, I am able to edit the advanced options and install the OS.
Right now its got BIOS Insyde F.13 installed and I found an update on the HP site F.15.
Here is the link - http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52622.exe
Are you able to let me know if there are any special instruction how to flash/update the mod BIOS? Can you please post a link if available to a tutorial on this site? I tried to update with the HP one but there is no way to choose it if you boot from the USB. There is no option on the BIOS and there is no OS installed on the laptop right now.
If you need any other info, please let me know.
Thanks for your help.
