I got the Opti 380 running and tried a few CPUs. The Q6700 ran, but the QX6700/QX6800SLACP wouldn't. This is typical that a 130W CPU won't boot. But The 2 core X6800 75W B2 CPU gave an "incompatible processor found" "startup halted" message. So it looks like there might be a blacklist of some kind. It's kind of sad because even the default 11X266fsb is a nice upgrade. The Q9505S R0 ran beautifully on the A02 BIOS. I'm installing A04 to avoid the digital signing of the A07 BIOS. Didn't find A05. Admin stuck me over here in a Xeon thread but that's not really what I'm doing right now. I would like to have C2X BIOS support if possible.Could this be added to the XEON BIOS mod, or is there something else limiting this computer.
I also played with an E5700 3GHz 800 fsb chip that would be 4GHz@266FSB ,and E7600 11.5x266 that would be 3.8Ghz @ 333fsb. It needs more Voltage to boot the OS but the BIOS kept trying anyway.
