Regarding unlocked BIOS, you could try and there are indeed some options, but on Vostro 3450 they do nothing. Since N4110 is almost the same machine as Vostro 3450, I doubt any of them would work on yours either.
If your system does not support manual GPU switching even in Windows, there seems to be a way to turn it on with an SSDT edit, look a few pages earlier in this topic where I posted an example (look for SFUN). However, I'm not quite sure how manual switching would work on OS X.
I've been doing some research on PX4.0 switchable graphics (however, my goal was the opposite - to disable the Intel GPU), but unfortunately I couldn't find any clue. However, I heard you can disable the discrete GPU using DSDT/SSDT edits. Not sure how, though.
