That Alpha does contain Intel RAID Rom 11.6.0.1702 so there is nothing else I can do.
Have you tried removing that Add-in PCI RAID Card and just using the Built in SATA2 Slots for RAID ?

The whole point of Updating the Intel RAID rom in the BIOS is to allow the use of the On-board SATA Slots with those 3TB Drives.

If you can't figure it out then AsRock will need to work out any issues you have with that BIOS.

ahhh, then i'm up **** creek cos my SATA7 port is damaged and doesn't work. I want the other 6 satas for my RAID arrayl hence why I want the silicon to work. I wonder if i used a non-raid sata controller if that would work via plug and play, perhaps theres some funky conflict between the raid chips. I dunno, deffo not an expert here. I'll continue to pursue with Asrock support, hopefully they'll provide me with a solution, they've been pretty good so far. Thanks again DMAN, you've been very helpful!!
