For mod flashing :

Run the WinPhlash (as Administrator), click "Advanced Settings"
then check and uncheck the boxes so it looks like this:

("Flags" Tab):
[ ] Verify BIOS part number
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is different
[ ] Flash only if BIOS version is newer
[ ] Verify BIOS image size
[ ] Verify BIOS checksum
[ ] Zero block before erasing
[x] Verify block after programming
[x] Disable Axx swaping automatic detection (if present)
[ ] Clear CMOS Checksum

("DMI" tab)
"Update": Select "Update the BIOS and not DMI"

Hello,

I'd need a whitelist removal for

Lenovo X200, BIOS 2.06 (BIOS ID: 6DET42WW)

Currently, I have installed the Intel WiFi-Link 5100 AGN (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4237&SUBSYS_12118086&REV_00
). I'd like to install a Intel AC 7260.

http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...uj08uc.iso

I know, there is already a modded BIOS for the latest version of the BIOS.
However, I need this specific version, since my model suffers from a bug existing in all versions greater than 2.06.
This causes uneven brightness distribution in the display and a high-pitched noise from the lcd backlight inverter.

Thanks for any help!

Thank you very much.

There are two ROMs in the modified folder. How do I know, which one I should flash?
$01B9000_NWL.ROM or $01B9100_NWL.ROM ?
There are the 6D-Models and the 7X-Models, but the aforementioned filenames don't give a hint about that.

Also is it safe to flash from Windows?
You often read it's better to flash from a DOS-Bootdisk.

Ok friend,
You have to folder :

- BIOS ID 6Dxxxxxx-based computer
(Upper two alphanumeric characters of BIOS ID are 6D)
- BIOS ID 7Xxxxxxx-based computer
(Upper two alphanumeric characters of BIOS ID are 7X)

Then two Bioses :

[For BIOS ID 6Dxxxxxx-based computer] = $01B9000.FL1
[For BIOS ID 7Xxxxxxx-based computer] = $01B9100.FL1

You can use your just choice 6D or 7X to get the WinPhlash.exe and then
run It as Admministrator !
When asked choice your Bios version and go !
I think You can flash without fear It !

I cannot flash using WinPhlash. I get this error: Cannot Load Driver to Update BIOS (Error code: 1275)

I started the program as administrator and already disabled the DEP Data Execution Prevention as prescribed here:
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkStatio...a-p/597545

It seems WinPhlash only works for a 32bit Windows. I have a 64bit Windows.
I downloaded WinPhlash64, a version of WinPhlash for 64bit systems, and tried that.

However, I get a different error then: Image file %s is either not valid or is damaged. Platform signature not found in the interface. Error code: -103

Any ideas?

Yes You have to use this tool :

Hiren's Boot DVD 15.2 Restored Edition 1.1 (January 2013)

Prepare a LiveUSB run Win7 x32 (present WinXp and Win7) and then update bios !
