GA-EP45-UD3R rev1.1 for 3TB drives
#11
(06-16-2014, 09:57 PM)gto4ben Wrote: I'm attaching a modified F12 bios' for both GA-EP45-UD3R rev 1.0 and rev1.1 with the following updates:

ICH10R southbridge - v12902006
8111 ethernet - rtegrom259.lom
SATA2 chip - jmb362_C_1.06.78
ICHAACHI 1.2 original from a EP45-USB3P

I downselected the Intel RAID OROM since somefolks were having 13 series issues. Both the jmb362_C_1.06.78 and ICHAACHI 1.2 original bring up a screen at boot and this may help AHCI detection issues

Let us know how it turns out.

This change works (Using Rev 1.1) so now have set the drives back to ahci in the bios and have one 4TB drive working fine.
Thanks for that.

Thank you very much for this! Just getting around to repurposing my old motherboard for a NAS and have a 3TB drive on the way. Will give this a go over the next week or two.

Okay. This looks like the thread I want to be in!

Smile

However... I do not see any of the original file attachments?

The's a total maximum attachment file size limit on this forum so older files get deleted sometimes. I'm busy today but I can provide a bios with the appropriate Intel OROM that will allow you to use the 3TB HD in RAID this weekend. You'll need to install the Intel RST 11.2.0.1006.

If this is just an add on to increase storage space and you have Win7 or higher, initialize your drive as GPT and you'll see all the drive's capacity.

Hi, first of all many thanks for your work.
I have this board with original F12 and I'd like to upgrade, I'm wrong or your bios in post #10 (without download link) contains more recent updates?

The Intel OROM 11.2.0.1527 is simpler and the fastest for this chipset so I went numerically backwards in the update. Some folks had trouble with the other OROM updates for the GA-EP45-UD3R so I left them alone but if you're game, let me know and I'll make a new one with all the latest. FYI, older posts get deleted due to forum space limitation which is why you see the post with no attachments.

If it takes you no more than 5 or 10 min yes, I'd rather try it even if I am for the stability so I'll be happy even with the other one! Smile

PS the modded bios upgrade process will keep the actual CMOS settings (cpu clock, voltage etc) right?
