My ASUS P5K-SE allows you to flash from the BIOS itself.
Will even read NTFS partitions, so dont need a floppy, and it does a test check 1st of the proposed ROM file. Sweet. Whenever I tried to Mod my own ROM, would always fail the self check. Dammitall.

And agree, to flash thru Windows is just begging for trouble.
