man, what a friendly forum
people do stuff for me without me even asking :]
i will keep that in mind if my monster would not boot with that cpu
on the other hand when i invest in ssd , graphics or something i don't think this pc will be budget gamming anymore :] (because phenoms are kind of expensive around where i live sometimes q9550 is cheaper)
1030 is the strongest gpu this cpu can pull anyway, on ddr2 memory nonless, so i would not worry much for power draw (was it 30W gpu?)
all in due time though , first i need that phenom to boot and pink paint to dry
so far
mobo - 8$
case + 3 psu's + vista licence - free :]
phenom - 40$
8gb pc6400 666-12 - 20$
now i wonder how to make knokof case stickers or how to get phenom II x4 sticker because they are not on my local ebay.....
they are not necessery but it would make my pc look more professional over that pink paintjob :]
also pink keyboard are expensive as f

ok
an update
athlon 64 5000 see all 8gb of memory, dual cannel mode
phenom II x4 booted up on first try without microcode updated bios, but only with 2 memory slots populated
therefore it only can see 4 gb of ddr2 memory at this moment, they work in dual channel mode, but they work only in one pair of ram slots
i will try updating the bios with patched version, but as for now i think that ddr3 controller on the cpu might be wired to the other slots while still being phisically ddr2 connector?
or it simply does not like blue connectors
edit********************************************************
red text says
**** MANUFACTURING MODE ****
and yes thank you again, microcode patch fixed 2 other ram slots now they all works :]

That may just be me, that's extra friendly Phenom and pink paint
Purchase sticker from ebay, but look global instead of local, will take long time shipping but you will get eventually.
Remove that KB shell and paint it, pink KB solved!
MANUFACTURING MODE - did that go away after load optimized and a reboot? Great all memory issue solved now too!

manufacturing mode shows up after every full flash when it loads default settings
it go away after first reboot
i tryed reading the flash after it reboot few times and it still knows it is d2724 board, at least that is what it fills in the blanks
however cpu-z sees the board as d2904
fun fact
benchmark scores for cpu on cpu-z site are a bit higher than comparable phenom x4 i think
http://valid.x86.fr/9tkuiy
but i must say that i was already thinking about returning that ram and getting 2 sticks of 4gb each :] never expected bios pach to fix that

As long as it goes away, that's maybe normal, allows you to possibly set something hidden in regular mode (Did you look all around BIOS)?
Good scores, better than Intel Quad there too
4GB modules might be tougher on the system, at least now you can stick with what you have and save $$ anyway

yes i browsed all over bios and as i said before on normal"fast boot" option enabled it is only the blue background and progress bar on the bottom
when it was on old bios it was black background with fujitsu siemens logo and processor splash screen i have that on one computer at work (intel board) and i never knew why
inside the bios setup program nothing really changed, no oc options and only bare minimum options
date, harddrives, floppy controller (disabled for now, no floppy drive anyway) fan controll and audio/video settings, look pretty fujitsu/oem all looks to be working
it's not like i am going to overclock it anyway
2 things to note
phenom feel cooler to the touch on the radiator than athlon x2 (probably because it idle at 700mhz at 0,9v and athlon was idle at 1,4ghz @ 1V)
after disabling unneceserry options (spying) in windows i got 612,2 in multiscore stress test, so even better than before 2 points to q8200 grrr darn 2 points

We can maybe change logo to some other image if you want? But, I need to figure out which module is the splash logo first
Or maybe you could disable fast boot to get back old logo?
That's great with more powerful CPU it's running even cooler than before, better CPU all around!

hello from work :]
well
I wouldn't go crazy with the logo, if we could make something that would be fine but it isn't a priority. Most important thing is already done, because i don't know how would it work without your help :] (probably i would stuck with 2 memory slots if i do it myself on a hunch)
As for "quick boot"
Actually this is a mode where logo should apear, in normal not quick boot mode we see main diagnostic window showing normal bios detection stuff happening (bios version, cpu, ram, drives) Diagnostic window however still sits on than blue background in our "beta" bios mode or black in normal bios, because it kind of knows it isn't the oficial bios. in both cases it is a window on top of the background and pheonix progress bar is below both in normal and quick mode
Anyway on the other fujitsu boards i have at work, in quick boot mode, diagnostic window is simply hidden and depending on detected cpu , cpu splash apears
edit************************
it looks something like this on another of those computers at work, oryginal d2464 motherbord though
https://imgur.com/a/6Js84is
if i remember corectly this one runs only athlons 64 x2 up to 5200 and only 65w(cpu core is only 2 phases)
anyway bios is from the outside very similar from the user standpoint, the only difference on my moded d2724 above pheonix progress bar is blue empty background, not that you see it for long

I'd leave the image up to you, but I have to find it in the BIOS first. Yes, I'm glad I thought to check for microcode updates for you too! I didn't even think it would be needed for memory slot issues, only thought it may be best to update to latest while we were already semi-modifying the BIOS.
I see, now that you explain it that way, so messed up POST Screen on top of logo, when it should be either one or the other. That might be a BIOS bug in general from that BIOS we used. Is that the latest BIOS for that board? If yes, what happens now, if you try to flash in that same BIOS again, the normal update way without using the modified package/bin?
But yes, like you said, this really isn't a huge deal if we can't do anything about it. If this wasn't such an old BIOS, I'd already have the splash/logo found and ready to edit, but this BIOS is so old I forget half the methods and tools we used back then

i belive it may have different fujitsu logo inside anyway because e5635 was introduced after fujitsu and siemens split so it may have fujitsu computers logo instead

i don't know if lack of logo is a bug or just that manufacturing mode thing making it look different as an anti-tampering safety. well it would void guarantee if you aply unsupported bios to an oem machine for sure, not that it matters now.
and i have been corrected, when you enter to bios setup regardless if logo is displayed or not, background is getting blue
anyway, i can send you later flash dump from the first bios mod after motherboard already chew it up, or even the current dump to compare what motherboard changes after getting a new bios
edit*******************************
it seems that someone did the same thing with similar board just last friday and posted his message in the oryginal forum i linked up earlier
funny how it snowballing now
