Okay I have the GA-P35-DS3L (rev. 2.0) and I want to add the microcode for the xeon e5440 but I've only upgraded my bios before never added microcodes so I'm not sure of the procedure. I've been looking around for a week and found some info but not enough to make me feel confident in doing it. My 1st question to 1234s282 is can I use this file from the Asus DSEB-DG motherboard to add the codes to my mobo. 2nd question to 1234s282 do I need to make a bootable disk or usb with this file I d/led for the asus mobo and boot into it. I have modded the lga775 socket to accept the lga771 cpu on my mobo and installed the e5440 and booted but I read that without the correct microcode I can't fully utilize the processor (ie. speedstep, virtualization). I do not plan to go back to a lga775 cpu, this is the one I'm probably staying with. I would only change the cpu to another faster xeon if I ever changed it at all but I don'y think I'll need to.
