I am running a HackBook pro on this laptop, and needed to use MBR partitions (or it wouldn't boot).
I have the tools to convert it to GPT (non-destructively) now, so I will fully back up, and give it a shot... see if UEFI can figure out what is going on. Might need a 200MB FAT32 partition at the start... but will install that after the conversion (should be able to resize the partitions easily with GPT).
I think I can fool the computer into booting with a hybrid GPT (by adding a 100MB Fat32 partition at the end of the hard drive).
I don't quite understand the need for the WPH AND ROM files? I assume it is signed to particular hardware/manufacturer?
