Sabertooth X58 Bios mod
#51
Good job, guys!
I have a question: it is possible to delete message "CPU fan error" in this BIOS?

@pir8man I did an update with your modded bios (the any version), all went well, except, I can't seem to use X.M.P. option in Ai Tweaker.

When I choose it and it reboots, I have a black screen while PC is running.

After force reboot, I get an option to put it back on default or manually setup Bios. When I choose Auto mode in Ai Tweaker, everything works just fine.

Is there anything I can do to get X.M.P. working?

plug a fan into the CPU fan header on the mainboard?  Or go to hardware monitor and 'disable' the cpu fan monitor?

I believe either of those would resolve the message you are getting.

That is very odd...  My BIOS modifications do not touch the memory system.

You are getting a P.O.S.T failure and it is asking for BIOS reconfiguration. Have you tried clearing the CMOS?
On reboot it asks to load defaults or manually configure.  Which are you selecting here?  What are the next steps you take before restarting to test your BIOS settings?

What is your XMP profile speed, timings, and voltage? It may be possible that the system can't run that configuration, especially if the memory you are using was not meant for X58.

@ValeRO

What is your XMP profile? I believe it is loading settings that your CPU just cannot boot into. Adding uncore voltage to stabilize the memory controller should resolve the problem.

does your XMP profile load on your previous BIOS? if so, which BIOS was that?

Sorry for the late reply, yes, I did clear the CMOS, on reboot I choose manually configuration and only set the Ai overclock tuner back to auto. Didn't want to put all back to defaults, to much work. Smile
After back on default, there is no other steps I take, only thinking about to put the default BIOS 1402 back where I'm sure that the X.M.P. works.
Indeed, I had once or two times while back an issue with it (on stock BIOS 1402), but after a simple reboot and double check, the X.M.P. worked just fine.

It is weird and shouldn't give a problem, the RAM should be compatible with my motherboard, otherwise I did a bad research. Undecided

Here is my screenshot to get some idea's:

How much memory do you have installed, 16GB? QPI/Dram voltage 1.4 is a LOT, very high even for 16GB at 1600Mhz at 9-9-9-24-2T
1.2-1.3v should be plenty, probably do not even need that, unless CPU IMC is very weak.

Indeed, 16GB, that is what the X.M.P. profile choose for the Dram voltage. I will try manual on 1.2 or 1.3 to see what happens.

Update:
Tried with 1.2, 1.25 & 1.3 voltage and still got the same situation. Put everything back on default and changed only the DRAM Frequency to 1600mhz, still got the same issue.
Back on stock BIOS 1402, X.M.P. on and it works. How, I don't know, but my PC just booted without overclock error message.

DRAM voltage is not what I mentioned, totally separate thing, that is below the one I mentioned. I was talking about QPI/Dram voltage (QPI/Vtt is actual name of this voltage)
