It's an readme file into this (thanks to Sovem . . .)

Original (non modified) same version bios MUST be flashed already!

1. Create a USB Memory Stick from USBimg32.ima included:
- Run USBImage.exe (make sure that the USB Memory Stick is attached to your system)
- Load USBimg32.ima file to the "Image File" box
- Select “Copy Image File To USB Device” to start the transfer
(all Data on the USB Stick will be deleted !)

After completion of the USB Memory Stick preparation click “OK” to finish
the preparation process.

Note: The memory sticks size shown in Windows will be reduced to the size
after copying the image to the USB Memory stick.
The size shown does not reflect the real size of your USB Memory Stick.

2. Performing the emergency flash:

- Shutdown the netbook (notebook)
- Remove all peripheral devices
- Remove battery, Remove AC power cord
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds
(battery and AC power still out), then release
- Put the USB Memory Stick in the USB port
- Hold "Fn" + "Esc" and plug the AC power cord in
- Now press the power button (whilst still holding Fn + Esc).
Wait until the fan will run, then release "Fn" + "Esc" keys
- The fan will run for about 2-10 minutes and the USB drive activity LED will blink
- The netbook rebooted automatically.
If it doesn't, unplug the AC power cord once the fan has turned off

The bios should be updated with the modified BIOS, and boot as per normal.

You have just use and USB Stick and execute USBImage.exe as Administrator and It
will be create a USB for Recovery Bios then follow the procedure above !

Hi all,

Thanks for the above. I upgraded to 2.28 ADV+SLIC successfully.

However although this mod opens many useful features - it does not offer the Extreme Edition settings for CPU multiplier (ratio) and similar. I know these exist because

(A) I have them available on a similar Insyde BIOS for another machine, where they appear as an expandable part of the Advanced/Performance area, like this (not my photo): http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/upload...250874.jpg

and (B) even decompressing the core module (using 'Andy's tool') from this VA*.fd shows it does contain several strings referring to the Extreme Edition section.

However after finding these strings, I've quickly reached the end of my current skillset...

Can someone advise if these, and any other still-hidden settings, can be unlocked in 2.28? Smile

Many thanks
D
