Hi I have a G505s I have been trying to get an Intel Wireless N-7260 card working but ran into this same issue. I was wondering if anyone could remove the whitelist in my BIOS for me, it's a bit far in over my head to attempt it. And maybe include directions on how to install the BIOS? Thankyou!!

Dear friend, although I don't know how to remove a WiFi whitelist from your laptops proprietary BIOS,
you could just get a Coreboot open source BIOS (which supports Lenovo G505S) and flash it to your laptop!
More information here:

Because its open source, you can modify the source as much as you want, everything is unlocked, and no WiFi whitelists or other stupid restrictions

I ordered the Lenovo G505S (thanks to its specs) in order to install FreeBSD only on it
I know that there are few Supported WIFI mini PCI express cards, but I wasn't worry about it because i have Atheros that i know that works fine
Unfortunately when switching the card i found out the first time that there is a whitelist on BIOS Dear fellow FreeBSD user, although I have no idea to remove a WiFi whitelist from your laptops proprietary BIOS,

I bought an Intel AC7260 to replace a dodgy malfunctioning wifi adapter for this laptop and was told it wasn't on Lenovo's nice list. Set of ****ards.
So, can someone please modify the BIOS for this laptop to enable it for this wifi card?
Latest BIOS: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds038577

If I've forgotten anything, please let me know and hope someone can provide me with a mod soon!
thanks very much.

BTW atheros WiFi card, such as AR9462 or AR9485, would have been much better than Intel
These Atheros cards work very good, cost cheap, very stable WiFi, and they work perfectly under Linux without needing any proprietary firmware drivers
