I have prepared the Bios Mod, but this is RSA Internal Check and We can rewrite back
only by SPI Programmer like here :
The bios on HP Probook 4530s is soldered on the motherboard. I found where I can purchase a bios chip Ebay HP 4530s Bios Chip for $20.00. The seller also says they will flash the bios with the mod I choose. I am reaching out to the seller to see if they will flash the bios for me with your mod if that is OK with you? I figured it would be better to use a new chip so I have my original one to fall back on. I would like to see if I can solder a chip socket for my bios. It will make removing and replacing the bios easier.
Any thought?

Joey

Hello all...
I found this site just like others looking for a way to upgrade the Wifi card in an HP 4530S & 4730S laptops. I have read everything I can find here but I'm not still not sure if someone has been successful in modifying the BIOS or not? I have looked up the SOIC adapter and found an IC and socket provider and just need to know if it's been done? I think using the chip clip would be the easiest, but if it needs a new chip, then I would install a socket and put in a new chip. I even called HP looking for a card that would work, but they are useless b@st@rds!
Could anyone advise me as to the status of this mod? I also am wondering if it needs to be the same or greater BIOS version or if that's not important? I'm sure that I will never be able to update it from HP and that's ok. The laptop is working fine and I just need to upgrade it to 802.11AC.
Thanks for any help and if a donation or fee is needed, I would be happy to do it!
Regards
Tom

Thanks for the help. Attached are the 4530 & 4730S BIOS dumps and reports you asked for. I think they are identical as the BIOS revisions are identical? Check your PM for the zip file password...

So replace It to original into Bios folder (unpack using WinRar v.5.20 or above)
or last chance is the Recovery Procedure so use these files to get It :
Prepare an USB Stick Fat32 Formatted and rename as HP_TOOLS then copy into
the Recovery Files 68SRR.bin and 68SRR.sign then switch off laptop !
In order to initiate the BIOS recovery, "Window Key + B" must be pressed
during powering on the system. BIOS recovery can be manually
forced by pressing and holding the 4 arrow keys and pressing the power button.
You can also read this HP tech note: BIOS Recovery Process
Will Not Restore BIOS on Custom Images If EFI Partition is Deleted !
Let me know

Ok so let me if I understand this correctly...
I should try and downgrade the BIOS from F.09 to F.01 right?
Does the F.01 not have the whitelist or is it just easier to remove it from V F.01?
If that doesn't work, then I try and the TTAV134 Tool which may allow me to downgrade it?
If that STILL doesn't work, then follow the last chance recovery procedure?
I'll start on it this weekend and I will let you know what happens!
Thanks
