Huge thanks!

So, if I don't care if the IDs and MACs and stuff gets cloned, would it be technically safe to update to someone else's BIOS? Provided that I wouldn't attempt to activate Windows with the built-in key. Is such cloning dangerous for the ME firmware? Theoretically, ME could check the various IDs in the BIOS region for its own purposes, and ME itself uses certain variables of its own, unique to the physical machine (you must know this type of silly situations where another person's "dirty" ME region gets flashed along with the rest of the dump, which screws ME and... you know the story)

Can I flash the modified bios you made for me using the DOS version of fpt.exe and prr2.exe to circumvent error 28?

Why does it say Generalized? The file I uploaded to rghost is the result of Universal Bios Backup having been run on my unique laptop. It wasn't just taken from "somewhere on the web"

If it's Generalized, I suppose it can be applied to any existing G570 without changing any of the IDs?

Ok mate,
This will produce a CLONE regarding all DMI Data and Bios Region excluded ME Region !
It will cause the Win License Clone too so You will loose your original key !
Then if You will use same bios mod version like your bios version ME not wil create
any problem, meanwhile if You get a different bios version then You get an ME
disalignement !

I flashed the modified BIOS and everything worked, except for now I'm having a cold boot problem. With AC plugged in, it takes strictly two presses of the Power button to cold start the laptop; with AC unplugged, it takes about 7-10 consequential rapid presses to cold start.

Probably it's just a coincidence because the laptop is quite old and the capacitors on the motherboard may have degraded over time.
