[WORKING]HP DV6-6117DX Bluetooth whitelist removal
#1
Hello,

I just Purchased a new WiFi/bluetooth card (the intel 7260HMWG) for my HP DV6-6117dx. I searched the site for some whitelist removed bios for this laptop and found this thread. I downloaded these bios from the link posted in the thread.

When i installed the card, i got an error message when the computer booted saying the bluetooth module installed is not authorized. It seems like there is a second whitelist for bluetooth devices. Ill take a picture of the exact error message.

(UPDATE)

Here is a link to a picture of whats going on

Thank you

So im bringing this back from the dead hoping someone can help me. Im still looking for a solution for the bluetooth whitelist issue. Ive flashed the newest version of the bios that is available for my laptop.

sp54724_NWL_UlkMenus_Fantrip_ByCamiloml.exe

Im still getting error 704 for the bluetooth built into this card. I would go with another card, but these days finding a dual band card that doesnt include bluetooth is near impossible from what i can see. This computer was not equipped with bluetooth originally so i cant help with the hardware ID.

I really hope someone can help me with this. I have attempted to mod the bios myself, but i honestly had no idea what i was doing and didnt want to mess anything up.

Thank you

EDIT

Here is a link to the factory BIOS.

Hi. I was looking for this mod but it looks like the file has been deleted.

Can you upload the file again?

I just installed the most recent BIOS mod for HP DV6-6117dx (AMD) to remove whitelist for WiFi and Bluetooth. Because more settings were unlocked, the categories are shifted over in the BIOS menu and created a second line at the top of the screen. Is that normal?

When you change and save the SATA setting to IDE or AHCI, after reboot, it goes back to "IDE to AHCI ID7804." On a Samsung SSD, you can not upgrade the the drive's firmware without changing the SATA setting to IDE. I tried to upgrade firmware on the SSD manually by ISO USB and CDR and it still failed. If you do not set it to AHCI, the SSD's IOPS and Write Speed is cut in half to what is specified for the drive. The read speed is like 500 mb/s which is normal. Can someone fix the SATA setting issue? Why does this BIOS reset this setting even after you save it?

Also, did anyone install an AC 7260 HMW Intel WiFi card with Bluetooth successfully without taping pin 20 and/or pin 51 on this laptop?
