ASUS EeeTop ET2203T: Quad core CPU Support

Hello all,

I have a Asus et2203t (intel PM45 chipset) all-in-one which currently has a intel T6600 CPU. I recently tried to install a Q9000 CPU I had lying around but the system fails to post. It simply sits with a black screen and the fans running slowly. I have used Asus Ez flash to make a backup of the currently installed BIOS (This is the latest update) which I have attached. The system uses an American Megatrends BIOS.
So is is possible to find out which CPU's my BIOS currently supports as there is no information from Asus? And would there be any chance of my comper supporting a Q9000?

Is your Q9000 alive?
Did you remove a system's battery (or reset CMOS) when you tried to install Q9000?

As far as I am aware yes, it was bought from a trust worthy seller.

And yes power was unplugged and I removed the CMOS battery while changing and again when testing. It made no difference.

Your BIOS has microcode for Q9000. I think your motherboard hasn't voltage regulators enough to boot CPUs with quad cores.

Ahh right okay, so is there anything I could do to double check that my chip is functional and power is infact issue? I don't have more computers that have a socket which will take a Q9000.
Could 2 cores be disabled in the BIOS file to reduce power requirements or am I going to have to find another computer to test with?
Also if you wouldn't mind, could you explain how you find which microcode correspond to which CPU? I can use MM tools to get the microcodes from the file but I've no idea what they mean

A few motherboards have hardware compatibility with Core 2 Quad. You can't solve this problem by BIOS editing.
