Lenovo X201 Tablet BIOS Unlock Request
#11
If someone could look into this mod again that would be great.

Hello, MacGyver1985

As far as I know the non-tablet version had the same firmware and if it is modded it should work. I use a version with the whitelist removed so I can change the WWAN or WLAN cards. The SLIC 2.1 which allow for OEM activation on Windows 7 is already in the firmware.

I would also like to adjust the shared video memory as a well as memory settings and timings.

The downfalls with this system is that is does not allow for 1333mhz or 1600mhz memory speeds but only 1066mhz. Also, the Arrandale processor with Intel HD Graphics does not allow for anti-aliasing when playing games.

Hello all,
does this BOIS work?
What happened to the beeps, were you able to figure them out?
And why is chrome screaming about this file when I dl it?
I have the same machine and I could just install this if it is alright.

Here is full setup from Lenovo Thinkpad X201 Manual to unlock bios in x201;
Insert Rescue & Recovery Startup Disc into laptop CD drive.

2. Turn on the system by pressing the power button.

3. ThinkVantage Technologies are running and then Rescue and Recovery tool will load from the Recovery Media. Click “Continue” button.

4. You will see a few options to choose from on the following screen. Please click the Restore Your System option on the left. Or click the Full Restore button in the following pop-up window. And you will see a warning message, and click “OK” or “Continue”.

5. Select what kind of a recovery you wish to perform. Now make sure that Factory Recovery is selected and click on the Restore button.

6. A warning message about data loss will now appear, click “Yes” or “Continue”.

7. Click the “OK” to continue in the pop-up dialog.

8. Restore Factory Contents Wizard will now run. Click Next button to continue.
