Hello BDMaster,

All I can say is just - AWESOME! Thank you for the well done job and great support, mate!
I managed to flash the modded BIOS directly into the chip using FlashRom on Raspberry Pi and SOIC test clip.
Now my T530 is running smoothly with the newly installed Atheros AR5B95 WiFi adapter.
I'm also happy to have BIOS advanced menu unlocked.

P.S. You can take a look at your private messages...

Hello, read a few threads on the forum and hopping I could get some help with upgrading my T530. I wanted to add a Sierra Wireless MC7750 WLAN PCI-E card and upgrade my wireless card to an Intel 7260HMW. Like many other this is my first Lenovo, had mostly Dells before. If it wasn't for the white list I would love my Thinkpad. Any help in making this upgrade happen would be greatly appreciated.

Hey BDMaster thanks for the fast reply. So from what i read on the threads you posted I will need to get a Raspberry Pi, SOP8 clip, and a 3.3V DC2DC step down module so that I can read the bios dump directly off the chip. Then after uploading the dump file and hopefully you rewriting it, I would then use the same equipment to rewrite the bios on the chip and that should be it. I that right or did I miss anything? If so Ill order everything tonight.

Hi !

I recently bought an Intel 6300-N Centrino Wireless Card. I also have an Intel 7260, but that does not work either because of BIOS white listing.
I own a Thinkpad T530, and to my knowledge the Laptop had this Card as a selectable option.

This is the card:
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/w...-6300.html
However, my BIOS complains about the card not being white listed and wont boot. (I guess because it has no Lenovo FRU Angry )

Now my question is: Is there a way to flash the wireless card so that it identifies as the lenovo one ?
Because flashing my BIOS is not really an option since I don't have a HW Programmer and don't even know which one I would need.

I also have an Intel 7260, but that does not work either because of BIOS white listing.

If anybody can provide some insight on the matter I would be very thankful.  Heart

If anyone can tell me what kind of equipmtment I need, I would be willing to try a BIOS flash! But I just don't know what kind of HW Programmer to get Sad

It appears that the download @ http://rghost.net/8D8hkZtKm doesn't appear to be working, its giving the "Access to the file is restricted" error. Could someone repost?

Thanks!
