btw you can download the bios linked in post #2 and downgrade your one, it's a necessary step to unlock the eeprom.

I have older versions of the stock BIOS and I'm aware of the downgrade trick.

I wonder about this whole cloning thing because the vendor can offer a generic BIOS upgrade. Then it should in theory be possible to create a generic whitelist-removed BIOS in my understanding. I'd do the whitelist removal myself if I knew how and what steps I can take to make sure it wont be a brick.

So in short, I would like to have a whitelist-removed BIOS for a G50-70 laptop as well.

Hi,

sorry for the reckless bump, but I'd like to keep the discussion going. I'd like to know why can't there be a generic whitelist-removed BIOS.

Otherwise I probably have to open up a thread to request a personalized one for my case, but I really hate the idea.

Hi there,
I removed the whitelist from 9acn26ww bios for the Lenovo G50-70.
It should be a generic one: no need to send me your backup and aida report.
If you want to try it here you go:
  1. Enable the BIOS Back Flash option in Bios Setup
  2. download the 9acn26ww.exe from Lenovo
  3. extract it with 7zip
  4. download my 9ACN26WW_nowhitelist.fd
  5. rename 9ACN26WW_nowhitelist.fd to 9ACN26WW.fd
  6. replace the original 9ACN26WW.fd with the modified one
  7. run InsydeFlash.exe
Before flashing please check the bios recovery guide and have a rescue usb ready
After flashing please let me know if it worked for you, it did for me.
If it works for you too, I'll try and modify newer versions.

Generic method doesn't work because of bios signature.
I AM GONNA WRITE AN HOWTO TO MODIFY YOUR OWN BIOS BACKUP AND REMOVE WWAN AND WLAN WHITELIST
if you can't wait the howto, pm and me and I'll try to help you as I did with jerryjack who helped me with testing

Happy hacking

Yes. Daigo helped me mod my bios to remove Whitelist and guided me through the whole process.
Many thanks!
