Recovering From A Bad Award Bios Flash

This is a simple method to try to recover from a bad flash. I will be adding many more ways and AMI recovery, this is just a simple place to start.

Attach a floppy drive to the computer. Then use bootdisks.com to make a bootable dos image. You can only have MSDOS.SYS, COMMAND.COM, and IO.SYS. All other files on the floppy must be DELETED. If you can't see this file the make sure you can see hidden files in windows. Then if these files are prepared correctly on your boot disk, open the file autoexec with notepad. Then delete anything that is in there and copy and save these lines:

@ECHO OFF
@AWDFLASH AWDBIOS.BIN /cc /py /sn /r

Take note that when you save it make sure the extension is a .bat, not a .txt. Make sure to rename your bios to AWDBIOS.BIN. Then copy the modded bios to the floppy disk with awdflash.exe and make sure the award flasher is named awdflash.exe. After, if your computer is booting drives, it should automatically pick up the floppy and reflash the bios a second time. You will see floppy activity if all is well.

If this still fails, you can use our BIOS Mods Programming Chip service to repair your BIOS.

If you corrupted your bios, you might need to reorder your bios chip and other things on www.biosman.com

I've got a floppyless computer (Acer L410).
Tried an USB-floppy, didn't work.
Any other recovery possibilities?

Same procedure for USB stick. Trty holding down keys like Crtl home and ctrl f9. You can google or find same info on biosman.com

i got a nettle2 from a bad bios flash,its able to power up but however it does not seem to read from my usb drive which is bootable using the HP utility
does that mean i really need a floppy drive or i missed out sth.

I've got the folowing problem :

I have mod my bios with mod6bin and flash my computer with then modified bin file
at reboot , nothing , i have overwritten bios bootblock , so nothing to do execpt buying a new preprogramed bios chip for my acer M5100.

I have received new one yesteday , when the new chip is in its support , my PC runs OK. i saved the new bios in bin file with awdflash , and replace it by the old one without turned computer off (hot swap method) and flash it

after several atemps with this method , the computer don't boot with old chip (i've got no errors during flash process).

anyone has got an idea ? or my awdflash is in bad version for my computer
?

EMM386.exe was loaded so , before flashing be carefull

Hi; Itried to flash my award bios with awdfl from dos, and all seems ok (I follow the guide about "how to flash a mod bios"); but when the flashing was complet a screen message told me to press F1 to reboot the system: I ddi it but anything appears on screen....it seems that my pc is dead: now I'm work, and when I'll come back home I tried to clear cmos the bios; if doesn't worl, any suggest?
