Hey guys!

Newbie here. Have had this exact issue and would love to attempt a BIOS flash, as it seems really likely to be my problem. Have an ACER Aspire E1-572.

The .fd linked to above by BDMASTER I can't seem to access on rghost - "access to file is restricted" - can anyone link me to the correct .fd file, or hit me up with help on getting it from the .exe bios files from acer? I've tried extracting the contents of any .exe in them but can't find any instance of an .fd

Thanks in advance Smile

Ok friend,
try this file v.2.17 Recovery Bios :

http://rghost.net/60071116

Prepare an USB Fat32 Formatted and copy into the V5WE2217.fd file, then use this Procedure :

- Performing the emergency flash:

- Shutdown the netbook (notebook)
- Remove all peripheral devices
- Remove battery, Remove AC power cord
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds (battery and AC power still out), then release
- Put the USB Memory Stick in the USB port
- Hold "Fn" + "Esc" and plug the AC power cord in
- Now press the power button (whilst still holding Fn + Esc).
Wait until the fan will run, then release "Fn" + "Esc" keys
- The fan will run for about 2-10 minutes and the USB drive activity LED will blink
- I think the netbook rebooted automatically. If it doesn't, unplug the AC power cord once the fan has turned off

The bios should be updated with the modified BIOS, and boot as per normal.

Let me know
Regards

P.S. if You Overclocked or changed Video Setting Disabling Video Card will not be possible to Recover your Bios !!!

After a failed BIOS update notebook laptop can not boot. After starting the laptop black screen and turns the DVD-drive. Then just the power light and nothing happens. I reset the CMOS memory, but nothing happened. I tried to recover from a flash drive, but when you press the FN + ESC just starts spinning cooler and personal. On the flash drive lights do not work. I tried to copy on a USB flash drive different fd files, bin, rom, pheonix recovery, manually tore isflash, but nothing helps. I need to somehow restore the BIOS

I have 2 of these laptops one I can BIOS dump from that I have updated to 2.17 if I had the right tools. so far I have snagged the isflash.bin from the temp folder and I have results.rar Im not sure what bin file I can use they are all dif size. I need some advice on what bin file to make the .fn file from. Anyone that knows please help
