I wonder if it would be possible to create a final rom that rounds up the improvements since the latest release?

Yeah, that would be great. Because I'm so busy these days and can't afford to implement all of these things myself.
Also after the last release of moded bios by CaptainKasar two things went wrong:
1. OSx sleep fix doesn't work anymore
2. Bios powershare for usb2 port is not working anymore.
Thanks for your efforts
Are you still using Dell XPS L502x?

If you are knowledgeable about modding. Can you take over the L502x bios mod development? And release one with updated Intel Vbios and cpu microcode.

I know some basics, but the latest mod is working fine, except the two problems that I mentioned above! (and are beyond my knowledge)
I don't think that the latest updates effect performance too much
anyway it's not worth the effort I think.
Do you have any special issue?

Hi all, been a while since I last posted here
Don't worry even though I've been quite busy I've still been using my trusted L511z on a regular basis and using the latest BIOS mod I've posted here over a year ago it still works fine. I just wanted to ask people's opinion on the following:
1) There seems to be a new VBIOS out (2171) but it looks like (i) it is still desktop only, (ii) it's only a minor increment up from the v2170 in the existing mod. Does everyone think it is worth patching, and if so, does anyone want to volunteer if I put a beta mod to test?
2) There seem to be a few minor complaints about sleep in macOS not working on the A12 Bios. Personally I don't have this issue and I'm on macOS 10.11.6, but I wanted to check who's getting this (and what macOS version you're on?)
3) Bios USB2 PowerShare is an issue but I'm not sure I recall it *ever* working properly on a non-modded bios?
Thanks!

Good morning, I need your help, I upgraded my laptop Dell xps 15z l511z, only to have uefi since my battery does not work and kept updating me the latest Dell BIOS, and update this BIOS, but the temperature of the chip Intel and video NVIDEA are burning, not well lit and the fan is not working permanently laptop worked perfectly just wanted to install Windows 8.
It seems that the modified BIOS video temperature increases. Some have a BIOS without increasing video performance. Thank you very much.
BIOS1_A12_SPEEDSTEP_UV_FULLMENUS_INTEL.rar (Size: 1.89 MB / Downloads: 884) burning!!!
I need a BIOS that does not increase video performance

Hmmm. That modded bios does not increase video performance. I suspect it's an NVRAM issue. Suggest you first clear the NVRAM variables using a command parameter in winflash (GIYF) and/ or then reflash the standard A12 BIOS.

Happy to see you back!
Perhaps I'm still on my faithful XPS L502x ! And if it's compatible with 15z bios I can beta test. OR if you provide the modules I can insert them to my bios and test. Specially that Plop boot manager which we L502 users don't have. But I were able to Change my Dell Boot screen.
My USB2 Powershare worked up until A11 mods , but with A12 mods my powershare and OSx sleep don't work anymore!
Strangely my USB 3 ports can powersahre only if laptop is hibernated!! LOL
I think the vbios and CPU microcode are fine, no need to update. What's changed?
I'm on OSx mountain lion (10.8) and it doesn't sleep with A12 mod by Captain"Kasar
Thank you for your time

what differences exist between
.rar BIOS1_A12_SPEEDSTEP_UV_FULLMENUS_INTEL.rar (Size: 1.89 MB / Downloads: 885)
.rar BIOS1_A12_SPEEDSTEP_UV_FULLMENUS_INTELv2170_UCODE_029_PLOP.rar (Size: 1.89 MB / Downloads: 256)
I saw that changed the voltages and thought the bios came with Undervolting.
29/12 UPDATE BIOS MOD SUCCESSFUL! Added first mods for the 15z: undervolted video card, and upgraded to GT-525M GT-540M. Now need help to unlock BIOS features!
PD .It will be the problem? It was to use Winphlash.exe and Phoenix UEFI Winflash v1.5.66
to use the commands should I use? PHLASH.EXE ??
regards

Unfortunately the 15z bios DOES NOT work with L502x. Some modules are interchangeable but if you flash the 15z onto your motherboard you will brick it.
Ah now I remember the A12 issue on the L502x; some people tried to replace the powermanagement.efi module from A11 but it did not work because the memory map was different. I dont think this can be replaced directly with the equivalent module in the 15z bios.
Current vbios and microcode work well. The latter hasn't been updated since my mod and the vbios has only been updated for the desktop, so its most likely a desktop specific bugfix.
Pleasure mate - glad to see this topic is still being used!
