I have a notebook Samsung RF511-SD6BR with a i5-2450M processor socket PPGA988, TDP35W.
I bought a i7-2820QM, FCPGA988 socket, TDP45W
Supposedly, the RF511 line is compatible with both processors, as already seen videos with people Upgrading to the same, but always within the Sub-Line SD3, that instead of coming with a 2450m which is 35W, comes with a 2630QM , which is already 45W.
The processor arrived, did all the cleaning, installed, called ....... Nothing. Just called and no video, the cooler of an initial rapid turn and stopped without whistle or anything.
I suspected that the processor was burned or etc., but to put the old processor everything worked, phew (at least).
So I had the insight that only the Sub-line SD3 is compatible with 45W processors, however it did not make sense, therefore, to research the motherboards, and feeder sources entres variants of the RF511 line, there is not much differentiation between the plates and to Resistencia sources is universal.
So I started to focus my search this slight difference between motherboards, I found several variations between the series of number plates ...
ba92-08160a
Ba92-08161b
ba92-07563A
ba92-08161b
I took these models on the market-free. I have the model of mine, I did not notice when I opened it, unfortunately.
However, within these models, I found that the "Ba92-08161b" is the motherboard RF511-SD3, that even the announcement of the seller, explains that supports i7.
Now comes my question: Since all these small plates variations of the same, and this variation, I suppose, is just software because, from what I read, the manufacturers limit the OEM board what kind of hardware will be accepted or not, E. in a move daughter of marketing [censored], they just released the i7 for bios of the variants of the RF511-SD3, though, the hardware is the same.
What I want is to remove this limitation than mine, RF-511SD6 has to be able to accept the i7 processor with 45W TDP.
How could I do that? I find nothing in Samsung sites, the only bios upgrade application is universal, reads the card model and puts the latest version of it, there is no individual release of bios, (where one of my weak ideal is that problem is the fact that I have updated the bios because the bios that the i7 motherboard that this sale was 14HX version, and my current is 17hx if I'm not mistaken, however this should not be the reason, as I said, is one of the weak ideas) so that you can download and install manually.
My hope is to find the BIOS file RF511-SD3 and record it on my SD6, enabling compatibility with the i7-2820QM 45W.
I also found that the RF511 S09AU is i7 45w compatible
I get the bios from it here in the bios-mods.
I will post both here, so, if this is realy a bios matter, someone can get the liberation from one to another, and i can flash and enable the processor. Realy thanks.
The forum said that has a 2048 file limitation, i will post on the cloud them...
