Hello all, I have a g580 bios 9.01 and I was wanting to explore the option of an EGPU. As I have read, it seems obvious that this bios has a so called whitelist so it doesnt allow different devices to use the ports, but I also dont know what kind of ports are used on this laptop, are there any mini pci e slots on this laptop? Maybe it is being used by the wifi chip? Im just so curious and would appreciate any info on this and to know if it is possible to install say a gtx 750 ti externally using a pci e dock. I know the dock requires a expresscard slot or mini pci e slot. I saw one with a USB interface instead of mini pci e but I figure pci e mini is faster. Thanks for any replies!

So, I was assisted and was sent a custom BIOS to flash but it made my CPU usage stay up at 100 percent because of the system interrupts process in the manager. I ended up flashing back to stock because it also disabled and removed bluetooth altogether from my device manager. As I said I have a g580 20150. All I really want, is a BIO that will accept a higher watt CPU such as the
https://ark.intel.com/products/71096/Int...o-3_90-GHz
That CPU should technically work as long as the BIOS allows it even though its 55 watt compared to my 35. I Kinda wanted to be able to boost up the integrated GPU within the modded BIOS but didnt try it because he warned me vaguely not to. At first I wanted to do an E GPU but I honestly am only going to play Diablo 3 on it and some other games lighter than that. So, even the current setup with the 1.8 dual core non hyper thread and intel 2000 graphics are able to be playable on super low settings. So now, I just want the BIOS to allow any CPU I want from this same socket. I also want to do two idential 500 GB SSD's by replacing the optical disc drive with a SSD caddy and run them in RAID mode as one drive to double the speed, let me know your thoughs!

Read README Flashing this BIOS will remove your bluetooth hardware from the device manager and render it unusable. I do not suggest it unless you have a real reason to. I ultimately want to do a RAID0 setup with 2 SSD's in place of the optical disc drive and have the i7 3940xm which is the best possible CPU and GPU integrated that will fit our g580 20150 model. Hope I was helpful

Hi Dudu2002,
I have got almost same bios: 5ECN92WW(V8.04).
Would you be able to fix that bios too?
Or explain to me how and with wich tools I could do it myself?
Regards,
Jeroen.
