VAIO FE28H BIOS for extra RAM
#21
(01-30-2017, 11:45 AM)DeathBringer Wrote: Your laptop uses 945PM with 32bit's PAE. So it can't address memory above 4GB.
In your laptop memory above 0xC0000000 address is used by internal devices. So only 3072 Mb are available. It can't be changed by any BIOS patches.

What's the version of Windows you use?
Try to disconnect HDD. Any changes?

I use Windows 10.
removing HDD after bios logo ... OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND message is displayed.
I try also connecting HDD to usb but laptop reboot after bios logo.

I tried to use win 10, win 7, win 8.1 and a usbkey with win10 installation. Using DVD Always black screen, using usb installation  reboot after bios.
Now i installed a 2GB sodimm+ 256MB sodimm and works properly. But i'll remove 256mb sodimm, i think is not better because it is a 266MHZ and 2gb sodimm is a 400Mhz.

Try to boot from "Windows XP Installation CD" and FreeDOS USB flash (e.g. created by Rufus)

OK. You need new CPU for 3 Gb in Windows 10. You can buy a very cheap T7200 on ebay.
It's faster you current CPU by 60%!

T7300 isn't compatible by socket.
P.S. T7400 & T7600 are suitable too.
