Current installed BIOS version - 96CN31WW(V1.17)
Current installed EC Version - 96EC31WW(V1.17)
Wifi card being blocked by BIOS - Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 - Lenovo FRU 00JT497

Your bios chip is rewrite protected
Bios mod can be flashed using SPI-programmer+SOIC8 clip only

Like many users i would like to change the Wifi card of my Yoga 2 13. Reading all the topics i undestand that the BIOS can be written only using an external programmer and a clip (so i did buy one whicch is on its way). 

But the thing i do not get, is how the Backup ROM can be patched to remove the whitelist restriction ? 

Currently i did a backup using "Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit 2.0", it generated a LENOVO-96CN31WW(V1.17).rom file of 6144Kb (
  LENOVO-96CN31WW(V1.17).rom.zip (Size: 2.11 MB / Downloads: 10) ) , and i do not understand what is the next step. 

If someone can help me on that, i will be gratefull
