it is stuck in pata/ide emulation on this motherboard, where other rampage boards can configure it to ahci :<
it seems that a patched option rom might be necessary to force ahci on these boards.
the R3EB also has this limitation.

I would be willing to test if someone could provide such a modified bios.
If you have a OROM module completed and you want it imported to R3E BIOS, I can do that for you. I am not a coder, so I cannot modify OROM modules for you. I only understood enough to take the modules and create custom BIOS versions from those. ZIO spearheaded this project until he replaced his R3E board. I have done the same here, so I cannot even test OROM modules anymore.
I found premodded oroms on a onedrive link on that blog and have already performed the replacement using mmtool, works perfectly - 106 is reported instead of 104 and the windows msahci driver is functional.
unfortunately no such mod exists for 1.0.8.01 but there doesn't seem to be much difference performance wise going from it to 1.0.7.28, hot plugging and ahci features are now supported with this change.

Hey guys I know this is a bit off topic but I read that one of the members in this thread got a Samsung 950 M2 to work on their R3E so I'm wondering if you guys can help me out.
I just installed a Samsung Evo 960 M2 using a Asus Hyper M.2 X4 Mini adapter in the 4th PCIe slot and the drive is not recognized by Windows. I looked under Disk Management, not there. I've run out of ideas and need help figuring this out. I'm not even trying to boot from it, I just want to use it as a storage drive. My BIOS is 1502.
Any help would be appreciated thank you.
UPDATE:
I had it installed in the 4th PCIe slot. I moved it to the 3rd slot and now its miraculously working . Don't know if this is a limitation of the board or that slot is just dead. But it's finally working and I can really care less.
Thank you

Hello, first i'm very glad and so much thank you for your's job! I use u'r bios about two years. My acc on hwbot "zenekbielsko".
If i can pleasure, can u put newest firmware from marvell into rom? bios 1.0.0.1038 BUT firmware is much newest 2.3.0.1007
Link from driverstation
http://www.station-drivers.com/index.php...72&lang=fr
I flash it for my own route (using include flash tool) but every time where i restart mainboard, the main bios ungraded this flash to previous version from Your's mod 2.2.
I download mmtool and try find locations of the marvell rom files must to be but i can not do this on my level... Can u give me a hint where it's ben?

Quick question, what version MMTool currently works with the Rampage III? I need to update the CPU microcode with the newer 2015 Westmere-EP microcode. Thanks
EDIT: Never mind, I found it, its version 3.26 that works proper. I have newer Westmere-EP microcode if anyone is interested, its dated from 2015 also. The one in our 1601 bios is dated from 2011.

zenek_bb: Do you have the ROM for Marvell? I can inject it.
SkOrPn: is this the microcode you inserted? http://www.win-raid.com/t556f16-CPU-Micr...l#msg36230

I do it myself, OROM is on E7 code and compressed
Using Marvell rom from these page: http://www.win-raid.com/t7f13-AHCI-amp-R...dules.html
I got R3E with DEV_9123 Marvell 91xx SATA Controller (some boards got 9128 or 9130)
First i check Marvell flash program pass the flashing all 7 clusters done, then inject this rom to mobo bios using MMTool.
Everything works.

Hi, guys! Can anyone advise whether or not this custom BIOS provides support for 48 GB of RAM on the Rampage III? Thanks in advance!
