I want to unlock my bios to be able to enable hot plugging on my miniPCIe port on my laptop, but it has a Sandy Bridge CPU, which the tutorial does not include (http://voltground.com/haven/threads/102/). Is it still possible? I want to be able to use my GTX 1050 for an eGPU.
Thanks!

So I tried using AFUWIN64 GUI, and hit save. This gave this file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9zrxe9...sp=sharing
Am I getting close, could someone unlock this form me? Thanks a lot!
I have an Asus U57A with Windows 10 64 bit 1511, and have an Intel i5-2450M CPU.

I'm sorry for the noob question, but what is a chipset unlock? I can't seem to find anything useful on google. And, do I just use AFUWIN to flash it?
Thanks!

Also, is there a big chance it will fail and I'll have to reprogram my bios chip manually?

UPDATE: I ended up getting it working by using AMIBCP and enabling all of the settings I want. I used http://voltground.com/haven/threads/102/. By the way, the warning at the top is from me, this happened to me, and I had to reprogram my bios manually because of this error. Hopefully this doesn't happen to others.
2018 Edit: Ah darn, voltground died. If you need help figuring it out, email me at dev @ ajay.app. It's pretty simple with any AMI bios without write lock.
Edit 2: Wayback machine has a copy, no images though: http://web.archive.org/web/2017060300212...reads/102/
