Lenovo Z580 BIOS Mod V3.1 FINAL [02/07] [DOWNLOAD]
(03-19-2017, 04:14 AM)sojab0on Wrote: Is it posseble to update de cpu microcode to the version in the attached file so i can test if my machine will accept my i7 cpu, now it wont even power on with the i7 3620qm in it.

The only big deference i can find between the hard to find 3612QM and 3620QM is the TDP.
i think there is some kind of microcode mismatch.
can someone please look at this, i am running this bios mod on the mashine.

Hi, what are you Z380 or Z580?

The microcode is already up to date.

This will not affect CPU compatibility on this specific system.

If the system wont boot after bios mod maybe something went wrong.

Looking in to it, the 3620QM is a very rare CPU and may not be compatible. The max TDP is 35W so the best CPU you can use on this system is an i7-3632QM.

z580 by what i can find the basic bios from lenovo them zelf only accepts the 3612QM witch is even more rare that the 3620QM in the netherlands the 3620QM is more comon than the 3612QM or the 3632QM

but as far as i could dig up the 3612 and 20 only deffer in TDP and release moment.

the 3620 therefor has an newer microcode release than the one you used in youre bios mod.

that was why i asked if it was possible to update it with the one in attached in me previous post.

Hi, could you please tell me TDP and microcode revision is the earliest for the cpu? The current microcode is 1B and the absolute latest is 1C but considering how old these CPUs are I dount now they will be adding support

The microcode for the 3630QM is added downloaded the file drictly from intel

I made a typing error

Microarchitecture Ivy Bridge
Processor core ? Ivy Bridge
Core stepping ? E1 (QCF5, SR0UX)
CPUID 306A9 (QCF5)

so the linux microcode driver i attached earlier is the last one to support de 3612QM as well as the 3630QM

The 3630QM has a TDP of 45Watt
the 3612QM has a TDP op 35Watt

The bios i have has cpu microcode revision 1b and that does not support the 3630QM as far as i can find out. i can be wrong with that but the linux microcode driver has support for both the 3612QM and the 3630QM

i onley have one option other trying to get it working that is selling it.
Can some one shed some light on it, if this is posseble or not.
