Sony F11Z1R & 920XM Can't start the system
#1
Hi everybody!
I've got Sony Vaio F11Z1R & 920XM Processor (720QM was replaced), bur I can't start the computer.
The screen is black. Fan starts slowly, then off, and several seconds later starts full speed, but the screen remains black.
I have added microcode to my BIOS of 2013 but it didn't help.
Also I've tried to turn on Extreme Procrssor support, but I'm not sure that I did it.

My BIOS version now is R0280Y6 05.14.2010 AMI EFI

HELP, PLEASE.

Post the link to BIOS with updated microcode.

This is original ROM:
.rom   R0280Y6.ROM (Size: 2 MB / Downloads: 8)
This is modified ROM:
.rom   2.rom (Size: 2 MB / Downloads: 8)

The processor is SLBLW.

Thank you for such a fast reply!

Unfortunately not... I haven't got another computer with such socket.

Probably it is simply dead.

I also have found threads where people were trying to make this processor work on sony F13 notebook.
But the solution wasn't post.
The screen was black & had similar symptoms...

Does it seems I did right manipulations with BIOS?

To check it:
1. Install i7-720QM
2. Flash BIOS with updated microcode.
3. Reboot.
4. Make & post a screenshot of regedit with expanded key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0
