Add Support for Xeon Quad Core and Core 2 Duo to GA-965QM-DS2
#1
Hello everyone. Smile

I have a Gigabyte GA-965QM-DS2 but it has a really limited number of CPUs support. I would like to add support to Xeon E5472 , Core 2 Duo E7500 and Core 2 Duo E8400 to it. Can anyone help me? Smile

Thank you in advance. Wink

Hi, DeathBringer, thank you for the answer. Smile

I tried these 3 CPUs but none of then worked. The PC dont even power on.

Yes, you are right, the CPU-Z say that the Bios is version F6, but at the first screen when i power the system ON says is the F4 version, dont know why.

When i bought this PC the bios was the Version F3 but i did the Update with the F4 version from the Gigabyte site and the only version that exists there is the F4.

Thank you. Smile

FSB higher than 1066 Mhz isn't supported by this motherboard.
Please recheck with E7500.
BTW: Tell sSpec of your E7500.

Hi, DeathBringer. Smile

I tried again and the E7500 is not working. At Gigabyte site it tells that this Processor is not Supported by this Motherboard.

The sSpec of the E7500 is:  SLB9Z

Thank you. Smile

So it isn't BIOS problem. It's hardware incompatibility with 45-nm CPUs.

Oh... i can see now and you are right, since no 45nm is in compatibility list of this motherboard.

Thank you very much for taking time to answer. ;D
