acer aspire v5 572p bios Please help
#1
firstly hi i just signed up to site and i really impressed but what i have read can be done to bios thats all new to me.
however my problem which is driving me crazy.
ive got acer v5 572p.... 33224 g75 the harddrive was pulled before i bought it but and the fault seems to be with the bios. just get black screen of death. i have grabbed acer bios driver 2.10 of their official site. i have managed to grab the .fd file from the exe file as it didnt just come in the .fd format. i retrieved this by trying install on my pc then going local temp folder and pulling it from there.
everytime i try to boot it though i get the flashing blue light but nothing seems be working. ive seen others change the .fd file name but still nothing does anyone here know the fix or solution or bit more of tutorial on how to fix this.
be much appreciated from any suggestions or advice
many thx in advance

Hi,
try the following recovery procedure with this file (keep the filename as it is): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4NHIBM...IxSXM/view

Recovery procedure:
1. Copy the BIOS file to an empty and with FAT16/32 formatted usb stick.
2. Unplug the AC adapter.
3. Remove the battery of the notebook (skip this step in case you can't remove the battery).
4. Plug in the USB flash disk.
5. Press and hold < Fn > and < Esc >, and then plug in the AC adapter while still holding < Fn > and < Esc >.
6. Press the Power button. You can now stop holding < Fn > and < Esc >.
7. The BIOS flash should now begin, the fans will spin up and the power led will light up. It will take a while and the notebook will shut down after the flashing process is finished.

thank you mclarke thats the file i got but downloaded and tried that file but same thing i follow procedure and i get the blinking blue light like its reading flash but just doesnt do anything no reboot etc just blinking blue light. thats why i was thinking it maybe be down to a name change of that file like other acers but i cant find anything on net. dont think this model is as popular as others. i appreciate your time in writing out the tutorial ... all open to any other ideas im going to try using a different usb drive later see if that makes any difference
