[REQUEST] Acer Aspire E5-523(G) BIOS Unlock
#11

please can someone help me Big Grin

Well for all people with a laptop like that I fixed it en I shall shortly explain how I did it:

( it is based on this story: geek story)

first download H2OUVE.rar

H2OUVE

extract that in a folder

start cmd in administrator mode

goto that folder and type in:

h2ouve -gv vars.txt

:

open vars.txt in a texteditor
goto
(about line 1550)

[034] "Setup"

and then change

            000000D0: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00
            000000E0: 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 01 00 00 00
            000000F0: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 03 00 01 00 00 00 00 01 00

into:

            000000D0: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00
            000000E0: 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 01 00 01 00
            000000F0: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 03 00 01 00 00 00 00 01 00

and change also

            00000130: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00
            00000140: 00 00 01 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 02
            00000150: 03 02 03 02 03 02 03 00 00 00 03 02 00 00 04 02

into

            00000130: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00
            00000140: 00 00 01 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02
            00000150: 03 02 03 02 03 02 03 00 00 00 03 02 00 00 04 02

then save it as vars_mod.txt

from the commandline do:

h2ouve.exe -sv vars_mod.txt

now reboot and you have AMD V enabled

Summary

This change is permanent across reboots as the variable has been updated in NVRAM.

you can check the status of your processor with this AMD tool:

so good luck

Hi!
As first step, you will need the tool: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4NHIBM...RtQXM/view
Extract the archive and go to the folder with the extracted files.
Then, you need to open an Administrative command prompt in that folder (google it if you don't know how).
Execute the command  H2OUVE.exe  -gv  vars.txt
After that, you'll have the file "vars.txt" in that folder.
You need post here or upload to any fileserver your  file "vars.txt" and  send me the link, for modification.

Hello,

I need your help with my Bios,

I do not see the advanced options in my BIOS, I want to modify the video values of my graphic card.

I have 512mb of dedicated video and I want to upload it to more, it's possible?

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, I need to be able to use a KVM on my new machine.
Is there an update (modded or otherwise) which I could use to get access to the advanced/configuration BIOS menu's which have been hidden in this BIOS? Or to enable virtualisation?

I've already checked, and yes, my machine is kvm-ok.
(virtualisation is possible, just needs to be enabled in the BIOS...
but alas I couldn't figure out how to enable the option)

BIOS: InsydeH20 Rev 5.0 v1.09
CPU:  AMD Dual-Core a9-9410

Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks Smile

Hi

I'm looking to unlock advanced bios menu to enable VT for my acer aspire E5-523G-95NV - it doesn't appear to be in the unlocked repository page.

I have extracted the vars.txt, but where do I find which bit to set, and to what value to enable this?

Insyde H2O v1.18  (22AUG17)
