[SOLVED] Dell R810 & R910 with ES CPU's

Try to flash my mod of 2.7.0.

I update bios. Works on the E7-8870 ES processor.
such a small note. The dell logo is missing. no diagnostic tools are available.
It was the first launch with 2 processors, I will just put the rest and test it exactly.

Thanks

Good news.

I started with 4 CPUs. it works stably but there are some minor problems:
- does not recognize the processor. we have "Genuine Intel ® CPU 000 @ 2.40GHz"
- no Dell logo in the bios starting screen

- no bios Diagnostic function

If this is not a problem and you can correct these problems, I will be very grateful

It's correct name for ES CPU.

I'm not interested in that.

Thanks @DeathBringer !

I got the R910 v2.7.7 bios working on ubuntu 16.04. There is a good site for flashing hdr files from ubuntu:
https://major.io/2016/01/18/updating-del...rom-linux/

Bascially:
# it's easiest to be root - su and don't pretend this is safe...
su
# install dell's utility for flashing
apt-get -y install firmware-addon-dell
# enable kernel module for flashing
modprobe dell_rbu
# test modded bios, if it's ok, it may not return anything
dellBiosUpdate --test
# perform update - change name of hdr file as appropriate
dellBiosUpdate -f /path/to/R910-020707C.HDR -u --override-version-check -v --reboot
# system will reboot and update bios

# once system is back up and you login and su,
# confirm bios updated with - output should confirm successful update
dellBiosUpdate --system-info
# if you have problems, check help:
dellBiosUpdate -h

I am in the same situation. I just picked up a Dell R810 and picked up 4 E7-8870 ES cpu's. I have upgraded the BIOS to the latest version 2.9.0. I am getting the error "Unsupported CPU Stepping Detected: Stepping 6F1".

DeathBringer, I see you created a custom firmware for the R910, would you be able to create one for the R810?

Thanks!
