What type of BIOS do i have?

I have a Dell Latidude E5440. The BIOS says it is Dell Inc. A18. Does that mean I cannot mod it? I only need to remove the voltage throttle, but I don't know if I will be able to do that because I dont know what type of BIOS it has. Would I be able to flash an Award BIOS onto this, or would that completely destroy everything?
