Hello,
I have had this laptop since 2008 and it has served me well. I still use it as my main, daily computer. It just feels tough. I have a newer, much faster computer, but I cant stand how cheap it feels.
I have taken great care of this laptop since its taken good care of me. I have upgraded:
-Ram from 4gb to 8gb DDR2 800mhz
-CPU from its original P7450 (2.13)-> T9600 (2.80) -> x9100 (3.07) and hopefully to the QX9300 (quad core 2.53)
-Placed an SSD as the main storage and startup. Have 320gb HDD as a 2nd storage since it accepts 2 drives.
-Express Card 54mm (hidden, doesn't pop out)
-Replaced the battery
-Free upgrade to windows 10
-bluetooth usb
-Upgraded the old fan with a more efficient one that had better reviews. more fins/blades)
-I have the external Opolar Sucktion cooler. Works great.
-Replace thermal paste every 6months or so.
-I also always have it connected to a 2nd Display since I work and watch movies. Performance is solid. But a quad core vs duo core would really be nice. Especially since I multitask and run antivirus and malware daily.
Very happy with this laptop. The SSD and overclocked (this laptop has built in Turbo and Turbo Extreme Options) have allowed me to use this computer 10 years later. Very happy with it still.
This time, I am having trouble replacing the CPU. From what I read, its the same fitting and should be able to work, but I dont know what I can do next.
I restarted it a few times, but it freezes as soon as the windows logo pops up. The "loading" circle comes out but doesn't complete one cycle. Freezes instantly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
