Hi,
I am very novice to this. I recently got my Lenovo Y 50-70 Nontouch Model bricked. This occurred due to the ubuntu 17.10 bug. I had also wiped the data from my HDD and then I was unable to save changes to my bios setting. Because of this, I am now not able to boot from USB or a new HDD.
A method mentioned in another forum was to reflash your Bios using a CH341A programmer and a SOIC8 SOP8 test clip. I would like to try this method to get my Laptop back to life. To do so, could anyone help me on where to locate the bios chip on the motherboard and where to find the default BIOS file to reflash the chip.
I currently have a BIOS VERSION: 9ECN33WW(v1.16)
I already purchased a CH341A programmer and a SOIC8 SOP8 test clip from eBay.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
